Term life
Coverage for a set period, often 10 to 30 years. Usually the lowest premium for the largest benefit, suited to covering a mortgage or income while children are young.
Whole life
Permanent coverage with fixed premiums and a cash value that grows over time. Costs more than term but does not expire.
Final expense
Smaller permanent policies meant for funeral costs and final bills. Many options have simplified health questions.
